City Cuts Police Pensions, Raised Politician Pensions

Does not surprise me that there is little accountability amongst city council members.

Ronald Reagan made the statement that "Govt. is not the solution, its the problem." How better demonstrated than this situation. The politicians who get us in these fiscal disasters get a raise where the folks who actually protect and serve get a paycut.

If the mayor and board of alderman in the City of St. Louis ever get control of the city police department from the state of missouri, the same thing or worse will happen to the police pension system, which is sepearte from the city of st louis civil service pension.

" The Times reported Wednesday that City Council members and other officials got supplemental pensions paid for by Bell tax funds to get around retirement limits imposed by the state retirement fund. "

Are you kidding me? Council and other officials get supplemental pensions to bypass State limits.

I think the AG needs to issue more arrest warrants and lock up the whole city council and anyone else involved in this unbelievable scamming of taxpayer money, and then find out how to void any pension these scammers may receive...

You know, I saw this on the national news last week. My wife's mouth dropped.. She also thinks that these city employees need to be locked up somewhere far, far away..

I saw this story in the papers a few days ago, that the scumbag Rizzo had paid himself an exorbitant salary, along with the city council, and now they're cutting LE benefits?! Fire all of'em, then file charges.

These politicians need to be prosecuted.. The Police deserve the pensions more than the politicians.
