Chicago Woman Shoots Boy, 12, After He Breaks Her Windows

CHICAGO (AP) – A 12-year-old boy who was shot by 68-year-old Chicago woman after allegedly throwing bricks at her and breaking the windows of her home is facing an assault charge.
Chicago police say the 12-year-old and a 13-year-old boy were charged Wednesday with juvenile misdemeanor aggravated assault to a senior citizen charges. Police say the woman won’t be charged because she was acting in self-defense.
According to police, she had gone grocery shopping Tuesday and returned home to find her windows broken and two boys fleeing the area. The boys later returned and allegedly threw bricks at her.
Police say she then pulled out a gun and began firing, hitting one child in the shoulder.

It is high time that law abiding citizens take back their streets and neighborhoods!!!! Why should she choose to continue to be a victim? These kids have no respect for themselves, each other, or anyone else for that matter. I can guarantee you that they will leave her alone from now on. She deserves a medal. Has anyone bothered to ask where the kids parents where while their child was out terrorizing this elderly lady? I'm sure that the media will try and spin this one to make the children seem like angels. I wouldn't even lock her up either. Give her a badge, some training and let her go to work.

i agree with grady g.. i live 15 minutes outside of chicago and work in a rough part of the city.. the gangbangers are nuts and kill innocent kids whenever they decide to shoot..

This is why Chicago needs to let law abiding citizens carry conceal firearms for protection. What if she didn't have that weapon she could have been stone the death. Good shot.

Those kids are old enough to assault an old woman, and do criminal damage, they are old enough to get shot at.
