WESTMINSTER – – Authorities have released a composite sketch of a man who apparently broke into a Westminster home and hid completely nude under a bed.

Police are searching for the man who was confronted early Sunday morning by a homeowner in the 600 block of Shawnee Road.

The homeowner grew suspicious when he heard rustling sounds from underneath a bed, police said.

The suspect reportedly apologized repeatedly while he put on his pants, said he was under the influence of narcotics and fled the scene on foot, police said.

Authorities believe the suspect used a ladder to enter the home through a second-story window before being confronted in a ground-floor bedroom.

Police called in the Orange County Sheriff’s canine unit to help search for the suspect but were unable to locate him.

Police describe the man as a male Hispanic in his mid-20s, around 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 140 to 145 pounds with a bald head and thick mustache.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the suspect to call the Westminster Police Department at 714-548-3767.
