ARLINGTON, TX – Uniformed Arlington police officers have the chance to raise awareness that the city midway between Dallas and Fort Worth is the site for next year’s Super Bowl.

Police on Monday announced a commemorative badge will be available, for law officers to wear if they wish, from Sept. 19 until game day, Feb. 6, 2011.

The badge, which includes a rendering of Cowboys Stadium, also will salute seven Arlington officers who have died in the line of duty. The names of James E. Johnson, Gary Harl, Terry Lewis, Jerry Crocker, Craig Hanking, Joseph Cushman and Craig G. Story are etched on the back of the badge.

A portion of the proceeds from other Super Bowl commemorative items, such as a key chain and paperweight, created by the Arlington Police Department, will benefit the department’s foundation.
