MANILA, Philippines – Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s reported aggressive behavior against his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris was allegedly triggered by the latter’s relationship with a National Basketball Association (NBA) player.

Entertainment Website TMZ.com cited a police report that the boxer read text messages from Harris’ phone, which included messages from National Basketball Association (NBA) player C.J. Watson.

Harris reportedly admitted to the boxer her relationship with Watson, who plays for the Chicago Bulls.

According to the report, Mayweather shouted to Harris: "’Are you having sex with C.J.?’

Harris, who has three children with the boxer, replied: “‘Yes, that is who I’m seeing now.’”

Mayweather’s 10-year-old son reportedly witnessed the boxer beating up his mother.

The boxer also allegedly threatened to kill Harris and her boyfriend.

“’I’m going to kill you and the man your (sic) are messing around with… I’m going to have you both disappear,’" Harris quoted the boxer as saying.

After the incident, Harris was taken to Southern Hills Hospital for treatment of “minor facial injuries and a sore left arm.”

Mayweather was later arrested in Las Vegas on suspicion of grand larceny and domestic battery. (Click here for related story).

He is accused of taking an iPhone from her ex-girlfriend, hence the larceny charge.

The 33-year-old boxer, who remains undefeated in 41 fights, was jailed in the Clark County Detention Center.

He was later released after posting a $3,000 bail.

In a separate TMZ.com report, Watson’s father, Charles, denied that his son has an ongoing relationship with Harris.

Charles said C.J. is only in a relationship with his current flame, Danielle. He said the couple have a child.

“I know for sure that Josie is not his girlfriend … she did some event planning for C.J., but other than that, they have no relationship whatsoever.”

“C.J. would never do anything like that to Mayweather [Jr.] … he doesn’t need that,” Charles added.

The outspoken Mayweather is no stranger to controversy. He recently bad mouthed “Fighter of the Decade” Manny Pacquiao.

The American boxer fired racist remarks against Pacquiao through Ustream, calling the Filipino various names including “Poochiao,” midget, and “yellow chump.”(Click here for related story).

The Filipino champion merely shrugged off Mayweather’s remarks. He even thanked the American boxer for added publicity since the American’s rants supposedly help promote his November 13 fight against Antonio Margarito.

Mayweather eventually apologized for his tirade, claiming “he was just having fun.”
