OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A woman and two teenage boys have been arrested in the shooting and wounding of an Oklahoma City police officer.

Capt. Patrick Stewart says 27-year-old officer Katie Lawson was shot about 10:40 p.m. Sunday while in her patrol car as she was leaving a traffic stop. He says Lawson returned fire but did not hit the suspects.

She remained hospitalized in good condition Monday afternoon.

Stewart says police arrested 52-year-old Vilma Escalante, 18-year-old Hector Escalante and 16-year-old Alex Mercado for shooting with intent to kill. He did not know if any of the three had a lawyer.

Stewart says numerous shots were fired but it was not known which of three opened fire. He declined to say where or how many times Lawson was hit or if a motive for the shooting has been found.
