Sheriff's Deputy Collides with Motorcyclist in Early Morning Crash

DUANESBURG — State Police are investigating why a Schenectady County Sheriff’s deputy struck and injured a 60-year-old motorcyclist on Route 7 early Tuesday.
The deputy, Omar W. Quiernan, 36, was on duty and driving east in a marked patrol car when he crossed over the road’s center line and struck the westbound motorcyclist, Anthony J. Deangelo of Delanson at 1:55 a.m., State Police in Princetown said Tuesday.
Deangelo was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the collision.
