PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police in Philadelphia say a man armed with a knife and a cleaver was shot after a Taser jolt failed to stop him from charging officers.
Police said the 53-year-old North Philadelphia man, whose name has not been released, was visiting a family friend Friday when he became enraged and the resident fled to call police.
Lt. Frank Vanore says officers arrived and tried to talk to the man with the aid of crisis intervention officers but were unable to calm him down. Vanore says the man was armed at various times with a knife and a cleaver.
The man eventually charged at a group of six officers gathered on the street, and a 22nd District officer fired, striking the man in the chest and arm. The man was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital just after 4 p.m. Friday.

everyone wants to be sensitive when it comes to those "in crisis"...odd since those in crisise are more dangerous than those who are not. The fact that the taser didnt effect him is proof where his mind/adrenaline was...if he could, he would have slaughtered every cop there with that knife.

Yes... Thumbs up for the Officer that fired. Taser IS NOT the required Force Level against a knife and a cleaver.
Glad no Officer was hurt.

Atleast this Officer knows how to deal with a deadly threat. No Taser.
