Widow of Slain Tampa Officer Delivers Stillborn Baby Girl

JULY 21 | TAMPA, FL – Sara Kocab was nine months pregnant when her husband, Jeffrey Kocab was murdered on June 29, 2010. Sarah went into labor today and delivered the couple’s first child: a stillborn baby girl named Lilly Nicole.

The Tampa police department released a statement today on behalf of Sara Kocab. It reads as follows, “Sara Kocab and her family would like to thank the countless people who have shown their support and care during these past few weeks.

Sara delivered Lilly Nicole this morning. Sara and her family have known during the pregnancy that Lilly Nicole had a major abnormality that could result in Lilly being stillborn or only able to live a limited time after delivery. There is no medical treatment for this abnormality.

Tragically, Lilly Nicole was delivered stillborn early this morning July 21, 2010.

The family thanks you for your continued prayer and support. They kindly request that you respect the family’s privacy during this time.

At the family’s request, this will be the only information released from the Tampa Police Department. We will not be conducting any interviews on the topic.

OMG! As if this poor woman hasn't been through enough. I cannot fathom the pain she is going through. My heart aches deeply for her. May God grant her the grace to go on in this world.

She is with her Daddy now...this is far to much for one person to deal with, I pray for God to give Sara the strength to get through this. I have to ask myself why would God allow this,...but I know it is not for us to understand right now.

I was always told growing up that our Lord will never give us more then we can handle....I, myself, have questioned that many times. My God, how much can this incredibly strong woman, Sara Kocab, bear. Mrs Kocab, you and your family should know, you do not grieve alone. We are all grieving and praying for you. Lilly Nicole, Rest in Peace precious Angel. Rest in Peace Officer Kocab. I thank you for your courageous service.

This is one of the saddest things I have heard.I am so sorry for The Wife of the Late Officer Jeffrey Kocab for losing her husband and for losing their Child Lilly Nicole in such a short time of each other.Sometimes this life is so unfair.I want to say God Bless You Sara Kocab may you find piece in your heart for your loss.
