LOUISIANA, Mo. – A 4-year-old girl Missouri girl missing for more than 24 hours was found alive more than 70 miles from her home, authorities say.
St. Louis County police dispatcher Paul Jackson said Alisa Maier was found late Tuesday in the St. Louis suburb of Fenton after police received a call about a boy wandering around at a car wash. It turned out the child was Alisa, Jackson said.
Police and the FBI did not immediately have additional details early Wednesday.
Police continue to search for the man suspected of snatching Alisa from the front yard of her Louisiana, Mo., home.
She and her 5-year-old brother were playing about 8 p.m. Monday night. The boy told police a man he did not know, driving a four-door car, pulled up and ordered his sister to get in before driving away.
Police had only a vague description of the abductor – possibly a white male with dark hair in his late teens or early 20s.
Louisiana is a town of about 4,000 residents 80 miles north of St. Louis, has a Mississippi River bridge. The family’s home is a short distance from Route 79, a highway along the river that runs from Hannibal to near St. Louis.

Great ending to what could have been a very tragic event. One little girl found safe and the perp ended his own screwed up life.

Thank God she wasn't hurt. Where were the parents, and why would they leave their 4 and 5 year old kids play outside alone especially at night. That was very SMART of them.

Thank God and not the police for this one, Sorry guys but a call from some one about a child wandering around at a carwash is not a pat on the back for you.
Now on a more serious note WHERE WERE THE PARENTS?. What in Gods name were these two kids age four and five doing out at eight o'clock at night and in the front yard by the road?????
Again WHERE WERE THE PARENTS are they complete morons kids are very precious and vulnerable, They depend on us for every thing, Food, Shelter, Clothing, Love, Protection, Guidance, Teaching them how to live and take care of themselves WHEN THEY GROW UP. they are little children not little grown ups.
Come on people they depend on us to teach them how to be safe so they can grow up to be happy healthy productive adults.
I am so very thankful this child was found alive so she could be returned to her family, but I would half to think long and hard about chargeing her parents with child neglect.
Just my opinion.

This could have tured out much worse. Next time you get that SUSPICIOUS PERSON call, try not to shrug your shoulders too hard and cuss the dispatcher for sending it to you... it could turn out to be something like this.
