DETROIT – Detroit police have arrested a second person in a restaurant robbery Friday that ended after cops shot and critically wounded one of the suspects during a traffic stop.

The 17-year-old boy, who is accused of being the getaway car driver, was nabbed around 4:30 p.m. Friday on the 12600 block of Riad on Detroit’s east side, police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens said today. He’s expected to be arraigned in 36th District Court on Tuesday.

According to police, officers fired at the other man when they pulled the car over at Stockwell and Kelly at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, because he’d gotten out with a gun drawn. The suspect, whose name hasn’t been released, was convicted of armed robbery in 1998.

The pair allegedly held up Zorba’s Coney Island, 15247 Houston Whittier, earlier that day.
