PHOENIX, AZ – Officer Travis Murphy was shot and killed when he confronted a suspect had led officers on a short pursuit at approximately 1:00 am.

The suspect had eluded the officers after turning off his lights and fleeing at a high rate of speed. Several minutes later dispatchers received reports that a man was seen attempting to hide a vehicle under a tarp at a vacant home. The suspect was taken into custody after being found hiding in a nearby shed.

May the good Lord be with you brother, and may he look after your family and comfort them in this time of need.
There is never an answer as to why these sinceless tragedies happen, but knowing Officer Murphy was protecting the public and fellow officers puts him well above the average person. Travis was one of those Officers that make this Country/State and City a better and safer place to live.
    RIP my Brother. PPD#1434 Ret.

God bless the family. (Is it me, or is the press not releasing the suspects name on purpose? Highly suspicious)

Horrible tragedy for such a young family. Rest in Peace, Officer Travis Murphy, may God in His infinite mercy grant you His peace and comfort your family and friends. There is a special place in Heaven for those who die in service to their fellow man. That is my belief.
