SUITLAND, Md. – Prince George’s County police say an off-duty D.C. police officer shot at a man who robbed him at gunpoint in the Suitland area.

The incident occurred about 10 p.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of Old Silver Hill Road. Police say the robber was apparently not hit by the gunfire and fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

County police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Reedy says the D.C. officer was not hurt, but she could not provide further details.
