ARLINGTON, TX – Arlington police shot and killed a bull that found its way onto Interstate 30 on Saturday evening, brought traffic to a standstill and menaced animal control workers and others at the scene.
Police shut down westbound traffic at Eastchase Parkway about 7 p.m. because of the bull, which had begun charging cars, police said.
“I’m told that this originated in Fort Worth, and that the bull basically worked his way on the highway into Arlington,” police spokeswoman Tiara Richard said.
Workers at the scene said the bull had beaten itself bloody ramming cars, she said.
At one point, an animal control worker was preparing to use a tranquilizer on the animal. But the bull charged the worker, a police officer and others, forcing the officer to fatally shoot it, police said.
