ODMP's Honor Roll and Remembering Shirts Unveiled

FAIRFAX, VA – The Officer Down Memorial Page, Inc. (ODMP), has announced that its official “Honor Roll of Heroes of 2009” shirts are now available, as well as its popular annual “REMEMBERING” series.
Each spring, the ODMP unveils a memorial shirt listing the names of fallen officers from the previous calendar year. This year’s shirt displays the names of 126 law enforcement officers who served selflessly in 37 states, U.S. territories and the federal government.

Vehicle-related incidents were the top cause of law enforcement deaths in 2009, with 56 total deaths. Gunfire-related deaths followed close behind with a total of 49. Other types of deaths included: 9/11 related illness: 3; Accidental: 1; Aircraft accident: 4; Assault: 1; Duty related illness: 3; Heart attack: 9.
The ODMP’s extremely popular “REMEMBERING” series has also been unveiled. This year’s shirt and accompanying patch and challenge coin depict a police honor guard as it prepares to make a final tribute to a fellow officer. Each year’s REMEMBERING shirt pays homage to the somber and crucial work that our honor guards perform each year.
