NAPLES, Fla. (AP) – A Collier County deputy was reprimanded after shocking a colleague with a Taser in an incident meant to be a joke. The December scene was caught on tape at the Collier County jail. A female deputy was seen showing a message on her iPod to Cpl. Wilmer A. Arencibia, who followed the woman and shocked her on the behind with his Taser.
Arencibia told investigators it was “a spur of the moment thing” and acknowledged the behavior was improper.
He was given a reprimand and final warning after an internal investigation.

Poor judgement on his part, could have been worse. 3 day suspension without pay should do the trick. I 'm sure that should stop anymore horsing around the booking desk area. But it was funny (LOL)

Wow! some of you folks are hard core... you would hang the poor guy from the gallows!.....he used bad judgement to say the least...Maybe this CO was worth holding on to did you ever think of that?....I think anyone who has been in Law Enforcement a while has probably done something stupid that could have gotten them fired....It's a good thing for second chances.

Well, Deltapidelta, I too think it is funny.
It really concerns me that a bunch of Police Officers who see a 10 second snap shot come to some really harsh conclusions. Now I am not condoning what he did it is stupid, but come on, it is funny, or is everyone dead out there. You have no clue as to the background of these two; they were both playing like school yard lovers. I think the reprimand was appropriate. Poor Judgment I totally agree, but this has nothing to do with someone’s ability to respond or be counted on for back up, come on folks…….

I would not call this funny at all. I would call it it's time to fire him. He is a waste of money and space.

the tasers police use, are not toys.. and should not be used like this.. only if you feel threatened and deadly force is not needed.. they are powerful enough to knock people down, or make them pass out.. definately not something you use when goofing off or on anyone you consider a friend.. I'm surprised he wasnt fired out right.. for intentional discharge of a potentially lethal weapon.. on a co-worker
and the area targeted leaves plenty of room for sexual harrassment.. or assault charges.. If he did this where i live he'd more likely of lost his job and be fined..if not put in jail.. even if she didnt file formal charges..

After thinking about it it kind of concerns me. To think this guy could be my back up really scares me, it could be her back up and clearly his attention isn't where it should be. I wouldn't want him behind me in the dark because he's the type to make really bad decisions. He proved it here. This is usually the guy we end up arresting. How many of us have heard the comment from inmates "I was really stupid and wasn't thinking when I did it..." See a correlation here?
