NAPLES, Fla. (AP) – A Collier County deputy was reprimanded after shocking a colleague with a Taser in an incident meant to be a joke. The December scene was caught on tape at the Collier County jail. A female deputy was seen showing a message on her iPod to Cpl. Wilmer A. Arencibia, who followed the woman and shocked her on the behind with his Taser.

Arencibia told investigators it was “a spur of the moment thing” and acknowledged the behavior was improper.

He was given a reprimand and final warning after an internal investigation.

I don't see the humor in this - he's fortunate that it was only a reprimand and he was not criminally charged.

Caught the term "final warning" in the last sentence of the article. Sounds like the deputy has a history of borderline hi-jinks. Hope this is the last trouble like this he has, for his own sake.

Not real smart. Hopefully nobody gets fired. On the positive side, no one got hurt.

Hopefully its just a reprimand. It isn't anything to get fired over I think. it actually sounds kind of funny if she didn't get hurt. Boys being boys I soppose

I would expect to be reprimanded for this kind of behavior. The tazer is not a toy.

Okay I see nothing to get my bdu's in a bunch over. I think it's all about knowing the people you work with and considering how they would feel about it. I am not the sort to offend easily,so this incident doesn't ruffle my feathers, but I can see how it would offend someone else. Again think and if you are unsure, don't do it.

Just plain stupid mistake. They are issued to us as tools not toys and I wish more officers would treat them that way.

Not such a good idea. That guy is darn lucky. How about a joke that doesn't involve a weapon of some kind?

While TexasSecurity may not be perfect... And realizing that there are many more important articles to post in this website....

I will just repeat my previous post here before I go any further:

    "Well stated by Retleo.
Lately, we have a bunch of idiots playing with the "high-tech toys".

I can't help but to repeat what I said countless times:
All these "high tech" tools are turning the forces too dependent, too relaxed and perhaps even too idiotic...

He is lucky the female Officer didn't bring any further issues... This could have turned REALLY UGLY for him.

    I know, I know... I am only a dinosaur"

To that, I will just add: YES, HE IS EXTREMELY LUCKY FOR HAVING THE BENEFIT OF THIS FEMALE OFFICER UNDERSTANDING....

Exactly mark27dh.. Im not saying hes a bad guy,my comment was just in reference to those trying to condone his actions when in reality the majority of folks would have been fired. In no way did I ever mention being perfect.
