SEATTLE – Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill has been arrested following a domestic dispute over the weekend.

Officers responded to a complaint of a dispute at Hill’s home in Issaquah’s Talus Community late Saturday night. Investigators determined Hill and his girlfriend had been fighting, and that the woman had “obvious marks and injuries indicating an assault had occurred,” they said.

The woman told police Hill had caused the injuries, and the Seahawk was taken into custody.

Hill was booked into the Issaquah City Jail under investigation of assault. On Monday, he was no longer in jail.

According to court records, Hill was charged Monday with fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

The extent of the woman’s injuries was not released. It is not known what the two were fighting about, and the investigation is ongoing.

Calls to a Seahawks spokesperson were not immediately returned Monday.

On April 1, Hill received 12 months of probation in Georgia after pleading guilty to a charge of marijuana possession stemming from a January 2009 traffic stop in suburban Atlanta.

Janissa Miller, a deputy clerk with the Georgia state court in Douglas County, confirmed that Hill had a hearing in which he agreed to complete a drug and alcohol abuse counseling program and 30 hours of community service.

He should be not allowed to play football anymore. Professional athletes are role models for children. This, or any other previous run-ins with the law, does not provide a positive image for children. Playing professional sports is a privilige, NOT a right!
