LIVINGSTON, TN (AP) — An Overton County sheriff’s deputy on duty just 2 1/2 months has died after falling 100 feet into a sinkhole near Standing Stone State Park.

According to WTVF-TV of Nashville, Chad Pritchard was searching for a body in a cold case homicide Tuesday morning.

The station reported on its Web site that it was unclear if the sinkhole opened up where Pritchard was standing or if he was looking over the edge and fell in.

He was apparently in the hole for about an hour before being discovered.

RIP Brother....prayers for your family and that God will comfort you. This just hits home to parents since they live near Livingston during the summer months.
