SWAT Team Captures Georgia Cop Killer

The man who shot and killed Chattahoochee Hills Police Lieutenant Mike Vogt surrender today after a SWAT team surrounded his home.

Robert Cook, 44, will now face murder charges after he shot Vogt with a high-powered rifle during a traffic stop.

Cook was drinking in the middle of the road when Vogt arrived in his cruiser. After Cook was asked for his license, he opened fire on the officer.

A tip called into police identified Cook on Tuesday, however police waited for a SWAT team and armored car before moving in.

Sources told local TV station FOX 5 that Cook has admitted to the shootings during interrogation.

Just for you talking about the handcuffs, he is wearing a belly chain, very common way of transporting prisoners. Now that this peice of #%^@ is caught, death penalty time...and then let us carry it out soon.

When I went to the Academy and thru my FTO days and my days as a reserve while serving in the US Navy I was NEVER I repeat NEVER taught to handcuff in the front. The scumbag can grab a gun, a weapon of any kind and cause severe hate and discontent because now the arresting officers have to kill him......damn....and then sit in front of the IA table and explain why he put the cuffs on in the front. I don't think any academy teaches cuffing in the front......send the officers back to the academy for retraining.....now for the LT and his family, may he RIP......

I just attended Lt. Vogts funeral. A tragedy such as this will live in the minds of officer's forever.. Although the service was one of the most emotional that I have ever been to.. I just don't understand the senceless tragedy of the incident.. When is the government going to wake up and realize. The people of this country know longer respect the law. The people only see law enforcement officers as, a form of pay day.. They no longer see law enforcement as someone who protects and watches out for them.. However they are quick to call when they need something.. Then they are even quicker to file a complainant, because this didn't go exactly the way they wanted!
