Those who say they want to forget 911 and move on don't understand history. You learn from our history to make a better tomorrow. If we forget 911 then we might as well trash all of our history books that speak of the Revolution, the Civil War, WWI, WWII, what happened to the millions of Jews, Korean War, Viet Nam, etc. 911 is a part of our history and the more we understand it the better we become.

to bearstar03:
not to be rude, but according to your thought process, we should forget about all the painful experiences of our past. I would argue that it's your past experiences, good and bad, that allow you to move forward not fearing the past, present or future. Forgetting 9-11 will make us an easier target than if we keep the memory of 9-11 current, and VIVID. Not remembering 9-11 is to be ill-prepared for the next one, and there will be a next one! You still want to forget and move on?

To bearstar03, I don't completey agree with your comment. At first I took offense to it! I was on active duty when this event occurred. I stood watch on a gunpost aboard the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN for 3 days after this...then was deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of O.I.F your comment is true to a point HOWEVER as we move on we cannot become apathetic! I'm tired of hearing opponents of the war say that we've been fighting this war for too long, too many lives have been lost....BLAH FRICKIN BLAH!!! THE MISSION IS NOT DONE! How many times prior to 9/11 did the Towers get attacked? After the first attack "We have to move on" and look where that got us! WE MUST NEVER FORGET, so that another tragedy like this never happens again! That being said, I also stated that I didnt fully agree with your comment. I do agree that we must move on and continue the fight...but we must never become complacent as we were in our pre-9/11 world. Anyways enough ranting from me....God Bless our Troops and our first responders! Be safe everyone.

WE MUST LOOK BACK!!!! History repeats itself and we must be reminded and prepared. The radicals have no intrest in how many women and children they killed or PLAN TO KILL they thrive on the fear and terror (hence TERRORIST). All americans need to be constantly reminded of this day and the sacrifices made for our freedom, the very freedom you enjoy to speak out against the President and his actions on that day. If you could do better feel free to run for President!! Besides, what would Obama do? Kiss a ring and appologize for the symbols of power in our country? Do you not realize that there are going to be women and children killed in war, those animals hide among the children and women because they know how soft many Americans have become. If you can fight better GRAB A RIFLE AND GO DO IT!! I hate to see women and children die but I would rather ensure the objective is terminated to protect the women and children OF THE UNITED STATES FIRST!!!! EVERY DAY, SHOW THE PICS EVERY DAY TO EVERY MAN WOMEN AND CHILD, PRAY AND SAY THE PLEDGE to include ONE NATION UNDER GOD!!!!

Why do we keep reliving this? It was a horrible day and you can never move forward if you keep looking back

There's no excuse for any citizen of this country whatsoever to be so apathetic and unpatriotic as a lot of them are. But men and women have died, and I put my uniform on and risk my life every day so that these people will have the right, privelege, and freedom to be idiots. These liberties can't exist without law and freedom can't exist without price. Thanks for posting these reminders.

09/11/2001, a day that I shall never forget as long as I live. I will take to my grave these horrific memories of what all New Yorker endured on that day, and the lifetime affects that this day had on every city and town across the entire country of the United States of America. Like the addage goes: All Gave Some...Some Gave All; this is so realistic...I look at the faces of each of the first response victims that lost their lives on that dreadful day, and the same tears wail up inside of me for the families that will not have them to come home to again or spend time around ever again. I sense a protective spirit come over me that grinds inside of me and eats at me both day and night as to what truly happened on that day. There's so much more than what we've read, what we've been told, what we have witnessed through photographs, and video. This was not just an act fo terrorism, it was a complete invasion of our very freedom, our peace, our privacy, and yes, an act of "WAR"!
I would give anything if we wouldn't have been a sleeping giant fooling ourselves that this couldn't happen, or to the point that we knew something in the form of crime was in the air, and we did not react fast enough to stop such a Macabre Incident taking place that affected the very lives of the victims, and every patriotic American in our nation. I pray that we never see such a day again on US Soil, but I'm concerned that a similar day shall arise once again...it is not a matter of "IF", but "WHEN" it will unfold right before our eyes once again. God bless America, and United We Stand!

It's tough to look at these photos, I lived 45 min. away. I moved out of NY shortly after 9/11 and just havent been able to bring myself to go back. It seems like everyone knew someone in those buildings... It's still as hard to think about today... Just looking at those pictures brings me to tears. I dont think we will ever feel as safe in this country as we did prior to 9/11. Some scars never heal. I can only hope that the souls of those who were lost are at peace.

Has anyone found the official explanation as to why, when looking at this photo, what exactly has caused the building to fall down? An explosion like shown in this photo, the 2nd NYPD photo, would not be a cause for a building to collapse the way it did.

It still breaks my heart to see and hear the stories from that sad day! I recall how sureal it was, like the WWII days when my late foster dad must have received news via radio, I was delivering a trailer load of goods at a brickyard in Saint Paul, there was no Televison, just Three or four of us in the office area when we heard this, I recall trying to get back in the Army shortly only to get a nice letter from GW and being told at whatever Afees stations are called these days more or less your to old and a bit chubby! lol

Pure rage is still in my heart. They come over here and killed how many Americans, how many times and the so called President sat on his ass twiddling his thumbs. In my books that was the beginning of Armageddon, because it hasn't ended yet.How many innocent children, women, and men,on both sides,is it going to take, before it's enough.Did they have to come over here and help rebuild what they blew up?NO Are we going to rebuild what we blew up?YES How can you imprison them and give them better medical treatment than what you give your own people.Like the brothers in blue,EMT'S,Firefighters, people that gave of their selves and our still suffering from all the afffects of the smoke, the asbestos, the smell, and the visions of what they seen,at GROUND ZERO.Then we retalliate with great force killing more innocent children, women, and men.To what cost, when does it end,how many people have to die before it's enough.THIS IS TRULY A SICK WORLD WE LIVE IN NOW DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
