BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) – A 22-year-old construction worker has been sentenced to six months in jail and was fined $16,000 for killing an off-duty Buffalo police officer in a drunk driving accident on the southbound Niagara Thruway last summer.
Raymond E. Jamison Jr. of the town of Boston had pleaded guilty in October to criminally negligent homicide and drunk driving during the crash that killed 39-year-old Jose Colon. After his release from jail, he’ll have to talk to school children about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Colon had pulled his SUV to the side of the highway when it was hit from behind by Jamison’s car at about 4 a.m. on July 24.Jamison apologized at his sentencing Thursday. He had faced a prison term of up to four years.

This is a blatant miscarriage of justice. He has to talk to school kids? This scum should NEVER be around kids!

Our "justice" system at it's best. I've seen people get more time for driving on a suspended license........... What a joke.
