Homeless Couple Steals Sheriff's Patrol Car

A Washtenaw County pair is in jail today after stealing a Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office patrol car Wednesday.
A sheriff’s office deputy was at a home in the 100 block of Chestnut Boulevard in Scio Township at 5 p.m., responding to a fight involving the living arrangements of two family members, according to a statement released by the department.
The deputy put two people in the back seat of his patrol car to take them to the Delonis Homeless Shelter in Ann Arbor City. But at 5:45 p.m., the deputy radioed to dispatchers that his patrol vehicle had been stolen. Investigators found the patrol car a short time later, arrested the pair and took them to the Washtenaw County Jail.

Why would someone steal a Cop car. That's one of the dumbest crimes on the planet.

Maybe they just didn't like the homeless shelter and wanted a nicer place to live?

This is why it's not a good idea to take home patrol car. Last thing I need is some dirtbag knowing where I live.

Was there no cage in the car or did someone forget to slide it closed?
