BROCKPORT, N.Y. (AP) — Police say an upstate New York man firing shots from his second-floor window injured a neighbor and a responding police officer before surrendering.
Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn says the man began shooting randomly from the house early Friday afternoon. That was hours after a dispute with his partner.
A male deputy was hit in the leg and a female across the street was hit in the shoulder. Both were hospitalized with injuries not considered life threatening.
Police say a woman who lived with the gunman and their two children were not in the house. A negotiator eventually coaxed the man outside.
The shooting briefly caused a lockdown at the nearby state university in Brockport.

This is one of the many injuries sustained in the last year ( Rochester Police Department in particular )....God Bless and protect our dedicated Officers, Deputies, Troopers and University Police. They are unquestionably the best of the best, deserving our support and prayers.

I wish a speedy recovery to the officer and the woman who was shot. Now the individual who was shooting should be stoned to death.

I was wondering if this story was going to make it onto this website.
We were actually on rout 31, heading away from Brockport, when the police cars were going toward Brockport. We pulled over for the cops to go by.
And once again many people did NOT pull over for the police! One vehicle was a garbage truck, too! I was so ticked! Citizens should be able to report people like that, and get them ticketed!
Anyway, we live just minutes from Brockport. Gosh, there's been a few things that have happened there, in the last year. A bank was robbed, and there was a shooting outside of the hospital, not long back too.
I have met a number of our sheriffs, but I am not sure if I ever met Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn. The name does sound familiar, however. We have the best county sheriffs here in Monroe County. Many of them are Christians.
