Suspect In Utah Officer Slaying Found Sleeping
The AP via YellowBrix
January 06, 2010
A spokeswoman for the Millard County sheriff’s office says 37-year-old Roberto Miramontes Roman was captured around 8 a.m. Wednesday in Beaver County.
Lindsay Mitchell says Roman was taken into custody along with another suspect, Ruben Chavez.
Chavez is the owner of a Cadillac that was stopped early Tuesday by Millard County sheriff’s deputy Josie Greathouse Fox, who was shot dead.
Roman, the subject of an intensive manhunt, has been charged with capital murder.
Beaver County Sheriff Cameron Noel told The Salt Lake Tribune that deputies found both suspects asleep inside a shed.

Thank God these two dirtbags were caught! Kudos to alert Officers for catching them, and I really hope the dirtbags never see the light of day again. You kill a LEO, the State returns the favor, preferably in the fastest way possible. Period. God does not make us stewards of the sword in vain.

Rjpie is correct: our very authority as peace officers comes directly from God in his Word. A paraphrase of Romans 13:1-7 that summarizes this is "COPS -- God's ministers for good and a terror against evil. We do not bear the sword in vain." That this person had been in the US illegally and then allowed back in is just another example of weak leadership in securing our borders and administering justice under Romans 13 (God calls, not all respond).

WOW, Sleeping after committing a crime/murder and of a police office at that. I am lost for WORDS...and a WOMEN at that.
You should be so DONE.. They should SKIP Court / SKIP JAIL and go directly to the table, strap you down, stick the needed in your arm and SLEEP you shall be - no need to waste tax payers monies to house your stupid behind.

rjpiel! I appreciate you quoting Paul's letter to the Roman Christians. I can agree with you to a point. "Authorities" can also mean the judicial system. I've had my share of bad experiences with the judicial system, but it is what this country is based on. I know my scenario is-maybe-a bit far fetched, but lets look at the situation. What if the officers had taken quick justice with the suspect. Then later realized these weren't the murderers. I believe the officers who made the arrest handled the situation correctly. If there had been an immediate threat to them, then go for it. In this case though, let the judicial system handle it. If the guy gets off, then the blame will be on their shoulders. The officer can at least sleep at night knowing they did what they were suppose to do.
By the way I'm not a rookie. For what it's worth, I'm retired. To my brothers and sisters, "BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!"
