Court Officer Killed in Courthouse Shooting [Video]

Statement by Director John F. Clark, U.S. Marshals Service, on the shootings this morning at the Lloyd D. George Federal Courthouse in Las Vegas
WASHINGTON – I can receive no news more grim or sobering than word of a line-of-duty death or injury to our U.S. Marshals personnel, as was the case this morning at the Lloyd D. George Federal Courthouse in Las Vegas. Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the court security officer who was killed, and the deputy marshal who was injured in this morning’s shooting. Words cannot express our concern and sorrow for all those impacted by this tragedy. Rest assured, the brave and immediate actions of these two individuals saved lives by stopping the threat of a reckless and callous gunman who had no regard for who or how many victims were struck down by his senseless actions. They are heroes.

My sympathy to the Officers Family. There is no replacement for the lose of a Spouse or Family Member. No words, can replace the thoughts, feelings, and the love you had for this Special person. But as we all know, when we take the Oath to uphold the Position, We take the chance, to be killed. May his Honor not be in vain, that the Court House System see's fit to take further steps, to put a fifty foot barer of Cameras, Sound and Metal Detectors with rays as they have with other devises. Which sounds off alarms, that will put you on an alert, and the warning. of someone approaching with a weapon. With modern technology. it shouldn't be a problem. To correct the situation for the future. It's just unfortunate that it had to happen. In the first place. My thoughts and prayers are for everyone that was involved. Not only for the Officer, Court Officials, and the Mans family that did this act. They had no, involvement in the problem, but they too will suffer. If you have human compassion. this may sound cruel in one way, and another way with love and understanding. That makes the changes happen!

"Dear Lord, please be with the familes and friends of these two heros that made the ultimate sacrifice to save countless lives they never have met. Please Lord be with the officer that is still alive. Please help him to make a full recovery and keep him from the physical and mental pain from this ordeal. In Jesus name, amen."

The shooting is without a doubt a horrific indecent. But , how this jackass can all this clip "raw footage" is ridiculous. What it should be labeled is "Scared punk waits in background while pretending to be a journalist".

"Police_ Dad" You sir like many other fine and professional LEOs, are 100% correct in your opinion.. However, as you are keenly aware of the US Marshal's reason(s) for the current policy, so am I. But just like any policy that has been implemented for reasons thought to make sense at the time, there are circumstances that have since occured where an existing policy may no longer be suitable for the new and unforseen circumstances of the day. And as any thing, there is always room for improvement.
