Escaped Convict Taunts Police on Facebook

BRITAIN – British police would likely love to defriend an escaped prisoner who continues to taunt them by posting photos of himself enjoying his Christmas on Facebook.

Craig “Lazie” Lynch, a 28-year-old convicted burglar, has gained an Internet following as he has posted regular updates on the social networking site since his escape from Suffolk’s Hollesley Bay Prison on Sept. 23, London’s Daily Mail reported.

Instead of quietly going on the lam, Lynch has been regaling his 1,247 followers with his regular, profane taunts at police.

As a very special Christmas gift to his pursuers, Lynch posted a photo of himself dressed in tinsel, holding a turkey in one hand and making an obscene gesture with the other with the caption, “If any of you was doubtin my freedom. Here’s proof. How the f—- could i get my Ahands on a bird like this in jail. ha ha.”

Among his previous Facebook messages, Lynch clued authorities in that he was going to take his “little princess” to a specific shopping mall to meet Santa, the Daily Mail reported. He later filed an update claiming to be roaming the mall and carrying a 4-foot plush Winnie the Pooh doll.

Although it’s unclear whether police were staking out the mall at the time, a police spokeswoman told the Daily Mail that officers also were working with officials from Facebook to catch Lynch.

“YES YES i f——- made it to Xmas i beat their f—- system and i love it,” Lynch posted on Christmas Day.

Suffolk police will get another chance to apprehend their Facebook friend soon: Lynch posted his plans to attend a New Year’s Eve party in Lowestoft, Suffolk.
