Caledonia – Police continued their search Sunday for two robbers who stole $367.50 from a bingo game at the Racine Elks Lodge in Caledonia and for the driver who helped them escape.

Crooks Are Stupid

The armed and masked robbers first encountered a 69-year-old Caledonia man Saturday as he was leaving the hall at 5844 Douglas Ave., forced him on the ground and took his wallet. They then went inside, where they took the money from the bingo cashier, Caledonia police said.

About 70 people were in the hall, and one of the robbers pointed his gun at them.

The robbers fled from the hall, got into a car driven by a getaway driver and fired shots from the vehicle as they drove away.

No one was injured.

“We’re following up on leads,” Lisa Seils, an investigator with the Caledonia Police Department, said Sunday.
