BROOKFIELD, Wis. – A Brookfield police officer who was struck by a hit-and-run driver has been released from the hospital.
Police Capt. Phil Horter says a 51-year-old woman was arrested in the case Monday night after she turned herself in, accompanied by her attorney.
Police will ask the Waukesha County District Attorney’s office to charge the woman with hit and run causing great bodily harm and second-degree recklessly endangering safety.
Officer Paul Dilger was struck by a vehicle early Friday while responding to a call with two other officers. He was on foot at the time, and was hospitalized with a head injury.
Dilger was released Monday night and is expected to fully recover.
