Great job by those inmates in saving that CO. I hope that they are recognized for their efforts. Respect goes both ways always. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

It shows the old adage that my Mother told me 40-some years ago is still right: always treat everyone with respect and dignity. It is not only the right thing to do, it might save your live.. Maryville cop hit the nail dead on the head. I hope of the inmates in question were in for minor offenses or doing short time, the sheriff can get them released and if they are in for more serious offenses, at least upgrade their status and privileges. I sure would!

Remember that old story that your FTO told you about being nice to the drunk guy you are arresting because he may pass you one day while you're getting your ass whipped on the side of the interstate...He just might stop to help you....looks like this deputy is a great guy and treats inmates with respect. Great story!

Old news how? This happened Nov. 4th.
And Fuzz550 has it right. We all have jobs to do, but we have to treat everyone with respect. Respect them, and they will treat you with respect. Outstanding story, and great result!

This makes me think that this deputy must be the type of person who treated the inmates good and with decency, and despite their reasons for being behind bars, they were able to recognize and appreciate that in him. Nice story....it's good to read something that restores your faith in people a little bit.....

Always treat people with respect. Whether it be on a traffic stop or in a jail cell. It paid off in this instance. Thank you to the inmates who stepped up.

There are good people in jail who have made bad decisions. Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. Some wear an orange jumpsuit.

Just because you work in a jail doesn't mean you have to be a jerk... It's good to see some people who are incarcerated can change and do some good... Thank god the officer is ok....
