About Me
A Dream to some, and a Nightmare to others!***** In 1998, Steven Hadley started his law enforcement path as a Security Sergeant with the Miami Dade County School Board, after completing twenty three years in the United States Army. *****While serving in the military, he attended Georgia Military College and earned his Associate of Science Degree. In 1999, he was hired by the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department. *****In 1999, as a rookie officer he was assigned to Westview Middle School which at that time was suffering at the hands of a ruthless criminal street gang known as Darkside. Through his efforts along with the assistance of the Miami-Dade Police Department Westview Middle School and the local community became a safe living and learning environment. He quickly grew a reputation of a no nonsense professional police officer and was reassigned to Horace Mann Middle School who like Westview Middle was under siege by Haitian gang members. Once again his hard work and dedication to duty restored the safe learning environment to Horace Mann Middle School. ******He has also performed assignments as Field Training Officer and Training Advisor for the Miami Dade School Police at the Miami-Dade Community College, School of Justice. In 2002, he was promoted to the rank of Detective, and he was assigned to investigate personnel related complaints and follow-up investigations. Between 2002, and present he has received numerous commendations and awards from the Miami-Dade Schools Police such as Officer of the Month and Detective of the Quarter and outside agencies such as the Miami-Dade Police Department. He was nominated twice for LEO awards by the Dade Chiefs. *****In 2005, he became independent contractor for a consulting company, T.A.M.E. Inc., which provides law enforcement training seminars at Miami-Dade Community College, School of Justice and for the State of Florida, Attorney General’s Office, in numerous areas related to school safety and homeland security issues. In January of 2006, he co-formed a consulting company, S.H.A.P.E Inc., which proposes to provide law enforcement training seminars at Miami-Dade Community College, School of Justice and private industry. ******In March 2002, the school district was awarded a 1.6 million dollar grant titled, “Gang Free Schools and Communities Initiative.” During this time, he volunteered and was assigned duties as Intervention team member and to serve on various workgroup committees and attend outreach meetings and provide statistical information regarding gang members and arrests made in the target area for the “Gang Free Schools and Communities Initiative” (also known as Project MPACT). ****Although he has no formal training he is a highly respected subject matter expert for criminal street gangs in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools System and their surrounding communities.
