Good to hear from you again! It has not been a good week for our Dept.. we are burying a friend tomorrow and a motor Sgt was critically injured in a crash yesterday. Am holding my breath this is not going to be one of THOSE damn years... otherwise is SSDD. Dealing with my mom who has been seriously ill, trying to keep my troops in line...and keeping an eye to that light at the end of the tunnel! How goes the war on your end??
MyNiceProfile.com Happy St. Paddy's Day!!! Yeah we were running around with our heads cut off!!! Sorry the financial woes of the state have you in a holding pattern... hopefully it will all work out for you.
Thanks for the kind words.. mom got to come home yesterday.. so I have received the best present. I hope you and your family enjoy the holiday and have a great year! Perhaps one spent at the Academy!!!
Hey there.. it is good to hear from you. Hopefully you are in contact with the BI to make sure they haven't forgotten you?? I would hope that if worse case scenario they had dropped you they would at least let you know. As far as I know the classes have not slowed down much... I worked Thanksgiving, so that I can have Christmas off. My mom has been seriously ill, so we were able to decorate her place and have the dinner catered so all she had to do was show up and enjoy.. Hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday.
Well at least that will keep ya busy, the classes and all. I know it is hard waiting.. just keep thinking of that carrot at the end of the string!! We've been busy too, lots of drunks, pursuit I had to terminate as it was just too high of speed on city streets.. much to my guys chagrin! I even managed to grab a couple of reckless drivers so was a good wkend!
Don't count yourself out.. might be some of those others were disqualified by backgrounds.. drug use, etc. I wont agree that not having any "life" experience might work a bit against you, but dont give up.. with the war and military looking for employment after, is similar to what others have faced. Just tell them the truth, dont try to hide anything.. you know being able to mold an open mind is a selling point too! I was squeaky clean but it is just the process they make you feel like you are hiding something.. I will keep positive thoughts heading your way.
No problem.. would have been nice to have someone to chat with, the process caqn seem a bit overwhelming at times as it slowly winds its way to success! Ya can catch me here most anytime or I will quickly get back to you..
WOW that is cool... you will have to tell me how that goes ok?? I still remember my orientation, one of the chiefs who died only a few years ago was the one who spoke to us.. I hope it works out for you.. it is without a doubt the best decision I ever made..
Yeah.. I hear that..well I remember when I used to complain we were never getting new officers, but I never knew how much work that poor SGT had to do when I arrived!!! hahah.. tho think it was easier back then, not as many forms to ship to headquarters.. ahh well.
Well, I guess that is a good thing if they aren't calling you with issues!!! It is going ok down here. We got three new officers the end of May, and will get another FIVE in August.. arrrghh.. lol.. will keep me very busy in the coming weeks.
