    2007 was an especially deadly year for law enforcement officers. There were 181 fatalities recorded, accorting to http://www.odmp.org. With the exception of 2001 and the spike due to the attacks of 9/11, there were not more than 181 fatalities in prior years until you get to 1995, when there were 184.

    Let's all do what we can to make 2008 safer for the brothers and sisters out there who try to make it safe for those they are charged to protect.
