Buncombe county sheriff's office, CorporalSummary: It has been a pleasure serving with Lt. Petty. He has alot of knowledge about his duties. He is always there to help if you need anything or have questions about anything.
Buncombe County Sheriffs Office, SgtSummary: In the begining of my career i was unsure of working in detention because I had bad experiences with supervisors in the Department of Corrections. ( they are crooks with badges) However, Lt. Petty became one of my closest friends and guided me in seeing that not all detention/corrections are bad. With his years of knowledge and experience he made me the officer, Cpl. and Sgt. that I am today. With his ladi back style and ability ot lead he has shown me that barking is not always the best way. I have taken some of my leadership qualities and his and past supervisors and developed a leadership style that is effective, professional and there for my officers. I can never thank him enough for his guidence and friendship and leadership.
Buncombe County Sheriffs Office, OfficerSummary: When I started in the detention facility back in 2003, Lt. Petty was Sgt. Petty, in which he was my shift supervisor. I have learned alot from Petty and have come to know his reactions to certain things. He is a very laid back person but he will put his foot in your behind if you don't listen. Some say he is very unapproachable, however I think you can approach him with anything, but be ready because you may not like his answer. The man is honest though and always has been. He has gave me alot of knowledge about this proffesion and gave me chances when others did not want to. I say thank you sir and it is a pleasure to work for you and be one of your Sergeants. Mason's lead the way!
BCSO, SGTSummary: LT, has been with the county for 15 years there is little he does not know. He is a caring supervisor that is very calm and level headed. Even if he wasnt in the ARMY hes still ok to me.
BCSO, OfficerSummary: Lt. Petty is an excellent supervisor. One of the best in my opinion. He rarely says a whole lot but you know that if you ever need his support it will be there for you. He allows his officers to work independently and only steps in if they are in need of his help.
