Dear Friends:
It was a wonderful experience of snow, snow and more snow for starting 2009 in Sandpoint, Idaho. We are all safe and happy to be home but getting out to SanDiego as much as the pocket book will allow. I would prefer to be back in the snow, but time will tell when we will relocate to neighborhood closer to our kids in Idaho.
Just got word in the last month, that my nephew Adrian Cortez, is looking to join law enforcement. This is a young man who proudly can serve his community and his nation! Yes, I am a proud Aunt. Adrian, if you are finally reading this, please know how much I love you and want the very best for you.
I am first and foremost a mom of 6 angels with their significant others and 4 awesome to-be grandchildren. I can only take personal credit for 2 sons and a daughter, but the addition are a blessing that will come with a new marriage. It is with pleasure and respect to have supported the LAPD Hollenbeck Division. I have worked/volunteer as a community Public Health & Safety Representative for the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council, and I have also used my talents to participate with a booster group for another division and fundraisers for the local division.
It is with great pride that both my two sons praise the police of our community and want to be just like them. As I continue pursuing my need to serve, I choose to advocate for law enforcement in my community and in my life. If in years to come, I am sharing the stage to place my sons' first badge, that would be my greatest accomplishment.
I strongly support my children pursuing an active role in community and prove themselves worthy of the serving our country. My daughter imagines herself running for Los Angeles City Council, with pride to wish my AJ to be a flyer to one day be President, and my AC to become Admiral of a fleet or engineering security tactics, but in the end it will be what they find makes them happy!
I am currently home, licking some wounds, but hope to be fighting crime soon. I have enjoyed a wonderful relocation to the territory of the Norwalk Sherrif Department, an AWESOME GROUP! Cannot say enough about this department, their respect for community and the utter professionalism of every person that represents them. Kudos to them for the amazing new Youth Center in Whittier. Had the outstanding chance to be at the openning and the blessings these deputies bring to this community are more than any words can describe! Kudos to Chief Baca, a good leader of very great mentors!
