Getting ready to hold a "Celebration of Life" for my Mom on the 9th. My daughter has put together a short DVD to show. Ran into some legal problems about trying to have Mom cremated. Even though I hold the Power of Attorney for her and am the sole surviving family member, we did NOT have anything in writing with her signature indicating that she wanted to be cremated. We finally decided to just have her body sent to Austin. She was buried next to Dad on March 17th.

My daughter, Marsha, went to the hospital at 11:30 Monday morning to visit my Mom. Mom's levels all dropped within 5 minutes of her walking in. They called their Rapid Assist Team and within minutes the room was full of people. And then someone was telling Marsha to sit beside Mom and hold her hand and be with her. At 11:55 a.m. she was sitting beside Mom, holding her hand and kissing her cheek telling her how much she loved her when she just slipped away. She went quietly and quickly. I don't think she was in any pain at all. Her nurse (male) told Marsha that this morning Mom had some breakfast and was flirting with him, smiling and winking at him. Her oxygen levels weren't staying up today and they think she had another blockage in her lungs which was causing her lung to fill again. I was already on my way and got there about 5 minutes later.
It's a hard, sad, awful day because Marsha's best friend, her Grandma is gone. But she's pain free now in Heaven and happy with the man she loves and was married to for 57 years. She is reunited with her daughter, parents, siblings and her sweet kitty, Callie.
We plan to have Mom cremated, per her wishes, and taken back to her home she loved so much in Austin, Texas, to be buried next to my Dad.
Thank you all in advance for all your prayers and good thoughts.
