    Greetings From Miami, Florida..!!

MEMORIAL DAY MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY OF VETERANS AFFAIRS

Today, we pay homage to those who placed themselves on the Altar of Freedom for love of country. Memorial Day is a time for remembrance, reflection, and respect—for honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to the Nation.
On the last Monday of May each year, we observe moments of silence and moments of tribute to acknowledge the sacrifices by these brave few for principles greater than self. In answering their calls to duty—at Tarawa and Normandy, Seoul and Chosin, the Ia Drang and Khe Sanh, and at Baghdad and Mosul, the Shahe’ Kot, Korengal, and Marja, or any of a host of other crossroads of conflict—these American men and women stood their ground, held back the dark forces of oppression and destruction, and advanced our founding principles, ideals, beliefs, and values about the right of self-determination. They cherished liberty and loved freedom enough to lay down their lives to preserve our way of life.
Many lie in final rest in our national cemeteries. Whether at Gettysburg, one of our country’s first national cemeteries, or at Washington Crossing, our most recent dedication, each Department of Veterans Affairs national cemetery is a sacred place of honor befitting the great deeds and sacrifices of the Fallen.
More than 3.7 million Americans—Veterans of every war and conflict, from our Revolution to the Global War on Terror—have been laid to rest in these hallowed shrines. The quiet serenity, pristine nature, and strict adherence to time-honored Service traditions make our cemeteries the healing places where families and friends can remember and honor those who gave, in President Lincoln’s words, “the last full measure of devotion.”
This Memorial Day, a Nation at war prays for peace and the safe return of our sons and daughters, even as it exacts justice from those who trampled our most cherished principles. Now, as then, in addition to our prayers for peace, we pray for the families of the Fallen. And we pray for the Almighty’s continued blessings on this great and wonderful country of ours.

    Eric K. Shinseki

Have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day Weekend...
P.S. Always remember that you have a brother in me, and fellow lawman who cares and will never forget.

    Polk County Florida Sheriff

You kill a policeman it means no arrest...no Miranda rights...no negotiations...nothing but as many bullets as we can shoot into you...PERIOD.

POLK COUNTY FLORIDA SHERIFF, GRADY JUDD

An illegal alien, in Polk County , Florida , who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop, ended up "executing" the deputy who stopped him. The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed. A state-wide manhunt ensued.

The murderer was found hiding in a wooded area. As soon as he took a shot at the SWAT team, officers opened fire on him. They hit the guy 68 times.

Naturally, the liberal media went nuts and asked why they had to shoot the poor, undocumented immigrant 68 times.
Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel: "Because that's all the ammunition we had." Now, is that just about the all-time greatest answer or what!

The Coroner also reported that the illegal alien died of natural causes. When asked by a reporter how that could be, since there were 68 bullet wounds in his body, he simply replied: (BEST QUOTE of 2009) . . . "When you are shot 68 times you are naturally gonna die."

    Memorial Day History

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation’s service. There are many stories as to its actual beginnings, with over two dozen cities and towns laying claim to being the birthplace of Memorial Day.

Moina Michael conceived of an idea to wear red poppies on Memorial day to honor those who died in serving the nation during war. She was the first to wear one, and sold poppies to her friends and co-workers with the money going to benefit servicemen in need.

To help re-educate and remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the “National Moment of remembrance” resolution was passed on December 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans “To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to “Taps.”

A funnel cloud has been spotted in Berkley Springs, West Virginia, which is around 45 miles away from Frederick. I doubt if we are going to see the funnel cloud although the sky is dark and it looks as though it is going to rain......again. Ok, so we are under a severe thunderstorm watch.....again.

FROM THE WHAG WEATHER CENTER - The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Sterling, VA has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9pm for the entire region except for Frederick County, MD and Loudoun County, VA.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK has placed the region under slight risk at seeing a severe weather outbreak. Conditions are very favorable for thunderstorm development and with an approaching cold front, high dewpoints and unseasonably warm temperatures strong to severe storms are very likely.

IN THE EVENT OF A TORNADO WARNING IN YOUR AREA SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY IN AN INTERIOR ROOM OF YOUR HOME, AWAY FROM WINDOWS OR IN A BATHROOM TUB COVERING YOURSELF WITH PADDING SUCH AS A MATTRESS.

These storm cells will be capable of producing strong wind gusts in excess of 60mph, flooding downpours, frequent lightning and small hail.
