Greenville Police Department, Corporal/Shift Supervisor/FTOSummary: He saved my life....with his assistance GOD gave me another chance at life. He started my heart after it stopped during a foot pursuit of a felon. I love the man and his family as my own and would do absolutely anything he ever needed me to do for him. Garry, I'd like to dedicate this poem to you, after reading the terrible ordeal you've dealt with concerning your family, and the suviving daughter that you have as a result of a drunk driver...I hope this helps. Thanks and my sincere condolences to you and yours. Michael.
The Evil Drunks Do
There is so many of this kind that drink and drive
They leave behind a victim for some don’t die but somehow survive
The terror in their eyes when they look at what was done
Some selfish drunk tossed too many down calling it just one
Police stop drunk drivers and remove them from the road
Yet every drunk says they’ve only had one or two drinks
Yet they blow point ten or more innocent lives they truly corrode
Thank God the policeman caught them their breath truly stinks
Why take your drinking onto the roads in every city or town
Drunks claim so many lives not caring for lives that’s bound
They never seem to care for the ones whose life they take
Drunks are sorry and selfish their worst than a slimy snake
When a victim lives from the terror of how a drunk would rearrange
There’s something wrong with selling something awful and strange
Alcohol beverages should be against the law when given to drunks
Yet bars will sell them every drop allowing these unruly punks
Just toss me a drink and I get tuff and think I’m in control
Until the policeman suddenly catches me on his routine patrol
So if you fit the shoe of one of these evil types that drink and drive
Can you live with the harm you cause when a victim must survive!
