About Me
"We were soldiers once and young" - General Hal Moore *************************************************************** Started out in Law Enforcement and switched to firefighting on a large midwestern fire department. Retired Firefighter/Apparatus Engineer/Acting Lieutenant. Former Haz-Mat Team member, Director of Fire/EMS Communications Center, Medic, Technical Rescue. Children in fire investigator. Public information officer. I spent 12 years in the USAF - ANG and retired as deputy fire chief and a Master Sgt. I also spent 11 years in the U.S. Army as a UH1-H Crew Chief/Medic (Air Cav/Air Mobile) Sgt. By the way I'm no hero just a survior. The only heros I know didn't get to go home. I also do a lot of traveling and photography. I've even managed to sell a few pictures. Gun collecting and shooting. Also being a history buff I build historical correct models. I've been doing this for a while and found it to be a great stress release after working. I love to travel especially to historical sites. Especially civil war battlefields. You can find me on the road with my two dogs and my motorhome. I go to live theater, Broadway shows, concerts, museums, art galleries, and most musical productions from classical to piano, to rock. I enjoy going on ghost walks in historical areas. I teach part time at an area college and occasionally still take a class or two. I have a AA in Fire Science, a BS in Fire Science, and a MA in Public Administration. I am a member of the Lions Club and past president of our local club. I'm involved with the Special Olympics, various fund raisers, and veterans issues. MY HEROS ARE THE OFFICERS OF THE NYPD WHO SAVED MY ASS IN 1971 WHILE ON LEAVE AS A YOUNG SOLDIER ON BROADWAY BEING HELD UP BY AN ARMED LOW LIFE.
