    Sherry,
I'm on my phone. Wednesday my wife decided to stay home and I went to the YMCA to swim. The little one stayed home and it did seem strange to be there and he wasn't. I swam my lap showered and changed and went home. Twenty minute that we had an appointment to see the doctor. Was told if he got worst to go to the hospital. Thursday we ended up at ER. He had an upper chest infection and was having trouble breathing. They put a bunch of monitors on him, and a ventilator to help him breathe. I was rather concerned and a bit nervous. The wife kept telling me, he would be okay. I was uniform with weapon and the hospital kept asking me if I was okay. I took my badge off and pinned it to his blanket, so he knew we were close by. I know it sounds stupid but it helped me. We had a lot of family members, co worker and friends come to see him. Because one had to gown up, we let parents, aunt Karen and brother in to see him. The rest we met in the hall. He was asleep and we couldn't hold him, what a helpless feeling. Friday the temperature broke but we told if all went well the ventilator would come out soon. It didn't work actually that way. Saturday he was bragging on his own. Told if all goes well he could go home Sunday. Which happened late in afternoon. He hung out with dad on the bed. We had him sleep with us first night home. He mostly back to himself now. But I was one nervous dad. My wife told that is the first time she has ever seen me scared. Okay, she found out I was human. I hope you have a great time with your grandchild. Give him a little hug fro me, the are cute at that age. Catch you later. Take care and God Bless. Be safe
