Thanks for the invite; fellow Hooiser. I get down to Monroe Co. quite often picking up inmates from them that they are holding on our warrants.
I will tell you to apply for a jail position in Monroe Co, first and get your foot in the door and get to know everyone there. That way, when you are ready to move up into LE; then you will know how and have the support and references from your fellow deputies which will help.
