I think the NYPD is a great job, I had alot of fun in my career, (make sure you have a disability policy, even if you don't switch jobs, you never know...it's super cheap and it will take care of you...or your family, if something were to happen). I hope that your time as a CO will keep you in the Tier II retirement program and not the new Tier III program that Paterson has put out there. Just ONE difference (and there are some major differences) is Tier II is twenty and out with a 50% retirement, Tier III is 25 years AND you have to be 50 years old...if your not 50 when you have served your 25, you cannot retire until you are.....Good luck and no matter what you do, please wear your vest....feel free to ask me anything you need to, I'll help in any way I can...Michael
