Random thought...... does anyone else get annoyed when a famous Hollywood star, sports player, or comedian etc get hurt or killed its all over the news for days, months and so on and so on. But when others have the same unfortunate circumstance it might be on the 6 o'clock news then it's never heard of again. Just needed to say it. Pet peeve of mine.
Thank you for the kind words Mrs Bristol I really appreciate the encouragement. I believe you are correct after reading your statement on 33 being a good age to enter LE. In my twentys I believe my attitude wasn't where I would need it to be. I have the support of my husband and both children. My mom on the other hand that's a different story. I hate to make her worry but its my dream and desire no regrets later in my life. She is worried but I believe she understands this is something that I have to do, always wanted and always will. My daughter who will be 14 on the 14th now tells me she wants to be a police officer as well. So proud of her, it's a noble career and would love one day for the two of us to be coworkers.
33 is a great age to go into law enforcement. You have matured at this age and you understand the relevance of life. People need help and law enforcement officers help people rather people believe that or not. Some of them are ornery and need a little discipline in the beginning but they get it in the end. I think they understand that attitude goes a long way in the profession. I believe you will do well. Hang on in there!! I'm very proud of you and that more women are willing to serve!!
