  The Final Inspection

  The warrior stood and faced God,
  Which will always come to pass,
  He hoped his shoes were shining,
  Just as brightly as his brass.

  “Step forward now, old warrior,
  How shall I deal with you?
  Have you always turned the other cheek?
  To my church have you been true?”

  The warrior squared his shoulders and
  Said, “No, Lord, I guess I ain’t,
  ‘Cause those of us who carry guns
  Can’t always be saint.

  “I’ve had to work most Sundays,
  And at times my talk was tough,
  And sometimes I’ve been violent,
  ‘Cause the world is awfully rough.

  “But, I never took a penny

  You may be very interested in a group that I am VP of, on Policelink, it is called Policevets, it is designed to help all law enforcement professionals through their careers...the feelings and issues they may or will go through. It is especially designed to assist those who retired and or are disabled and retired. We know how difficult the transition from working law enforcement back to civilian, after so many years can be looked forward to as a retirement, yet turn into a very difficult transition, there also may be other issues or events that we will assist with concerning the retired /retired and disabled lw enforcement professional. We also, having worked as either the first or last line of defense for the country are veterans ourselves. Some have exchanged fire in a battle of life and death on the American soil. I was extremely involved in 9/11 and felt for the first few days that we were in a war on the front lines, and, in fact we were...You may enjoy hust looking at the site or participating in it, either way, it is a benefit to all in our field.
