Where to begin. I began my career working in Texas volentering for Baytown Police Department while I attended College. Marines help me see my potential. I then returned to North Carolina and began working for the Department of Corrections. I soon was the first Officer to stop a triple escape in Nc!! I was over investigations for a while and then Security Threat Groups. I was a Team leader over the Prison Emergency Response Team. I then Worked for Animal Control for a few years before Joining Buncombe County Sheriffs Office in 2000. I began as a housing officer like everyone else then promoted to Field Training Corporal and the Team Sgt. I am a shining example that with hard work and dedication will lead to a successful career. I have been a team leader for I.S.U. Team and Gang Task Force as well. Along the way i made my mistakes and learned from them. I also am working on a Gracie instuctor certifacation. I attend many deffense classes over the years and continue to educate my self in Mixed Martial arts. I have studied many of the arts and take a piece out of each to develop my own style and deffense that works well for me in detention. I also am a family man. I have one son and hes my world like most parents. Being a Single father is difficult but i would never change that. So on that note, I am a complexed man with high goals and desires for my career. Ive been around the block in law enforcement for some time Old school kool and hard to the core. I love my job but its not all my life just a big part of it . BCSO, Officer, Corporal and SergeantSummary: I have known Rick for the past five years and yes we have been at each others throat for almost four of them, because we argue like brothers. We both have the same views on some things but on others we disagree and we are both quick to tell each other that. He is a strong leader, has in depth knowledge and will jump into a fight in a heartbeat but only if it is needed. He is OLD SCHOOL as most of us are but is adjusting well to the NEW WAY OF THINGS. He is an outstanding sergeant and just want to say before I close that "AIRBORNE LEADS THE WAY" and " GO ARMY"! Peace you dang Phillopino, (I guess thats how u spell it"!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, and hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
11. Don't waste time finding fault with others - they can usually
Find fault with themselves just fine. Try something challenging-
LOOK FOR THE GOOD IN EVERYONE!
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
