- About Me
- I started my Law Enforcement career with the Charlestown Indiana Police Department Reserves. I worked with them for a little under a year. In January 1983 I moved to Georgia and started to work for the Cobb County Police Department. I worked the Morning Watch shift until 1988 when after being involved in a shooting I requested to be transferred to the training unit. I was assigned to the local Regional State Police Academy where I became the defensive tactics and firearms expert, while assigned to the police academy I qualified at the Master Marksman level, then later the Distinguished Master Level. I was also certified as a Master Instructor Trainer. I was a certified firearms, defensive tactics, defensive driving instructor, and I held as an Advanced Certified Officer by Ga. POST. I taught Tactical Handcuffing, Tactical Flashlight, Officer Survival, Advanced Firearms courses as well as general basic mandate classes. In 1992 I retired from Cobb County. I worked one year with the County Schools as a Campus Police Officer and left after the first year. I missed teaching and left Law Enforcement to teach Martial Arts and personal self defense classes full time. Master Pat Munk has been honored 4 times by the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame with induction into the Hall of Fame. In 2003 as the Man of the Year - Kenpo. In 2004 as the Outstanding Master of the Year. In 2005 as the Master of the Year - Kenpo. In 2006 as the Universal Master of the Year. In July 2007 Master Pat Munk was inducted as a Charter Member into the International Kenpo Hall of Fame. I continue teaching Kenpo privately and also travel and teach seminars.
