  2 Men Observed That a Husband and Wife Left for Work every Morning at 6am,
  After Days of Observing, They Waited For Them to leave for work
  Than They Broke into the Residence, As The 2 Men were Gathering Their Take,
  In the corner of the Living Room A Parrot in his Cage Announces,
  Jesus is Watching You! He Repeats, Jesus is Watching You!
  The 2 Men Looked at each other and Laughed Saying,
  Did You Hear that Bird! So One of Them ask,
  Whats Your Name? The Parrot Replys, Moses,
  The 2 Men Laughed again, and One Says,
  Now Who Would Name a Bird Moses, and The Parrot Replys,

  The Final Inspection

  The warrior stood and faced God,
  Which will always come to pass,
  He hoped his shoes were shining,
  Just as brightly as his brass.

  “Step forward now, old warrior,
  How shall I deal with you?
  Have you always turned the other cheek?
  To my church have you been true?”

  The warrior squared his shoulders and
  Said, “No, Lord, I guess I ain’t,
  ‘Cause those of us who carry guns
  Can’t always be saint.

  “I’ve had to work most Sundays,
  And at times my talk was tough,
  And sometimes I’ve been violent,
  ‘Cause the world is awfully rough.

  “But, I never took a penny
  That wasn’t mine to keep.
  Though I worked a lot of overtime
  When the bills got just too steep,

  “And I never passed a cry for help,
  Though at times I shook with fear,
  And sometimes, God forgive me,
  I’ve wept unmanly tears.

  “I know I don’t deserve a place
  Among the people here,
  They never wanted me around
  Except to calm their fears.

  “If you’ve a place for me here, Lord,
  It needn’t be so grand. In life
  I didn’t expect nor need too much,
  So if you don’t, I’ll understand.”

  There was a silence all around the throne,
  Where the saints had often trod,
  As the warrior stood quietly.
  For the judgment of his God.

  “Step forward now, my warrior,
  You’ve born your burdens well,
  Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets,
  You’ve done your time in Hell.”

  I promised many of my PoliceLink friends that I would keep you updated on my new mystery/suspense trilogy. I'm pleased to announce my first novel, Child Finder, has debuted this month. It is available online at Barnes & Noble, and

  Amazon. It has already received some great reviews, to include a 5-Star rating by Armchair Interviews!

  I am hosting a formal launch and book signing event at Borders bookstore, Chapel Hills Mall, Colorado Springs, CO on Sunday, June 7th, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. It would be great to see you there, but if you cannot make it, then I hope you still get your hands on a copy of my book.
