About Me
I am the surviving spouse of Sgt. Gary Wagers of the California Highway Patrol EOW 3/15/01, Woodland, California................... ABOUT US: I was born and raised in Arizona, served 4 years in US Navy, and 4 years California Army National Guard where I met my husband. He achieved LtCol rank and Provost Marshal of the 83rd ARCOM before he retired from the reserves. I worked as a Driver Safety Hearing Officer for California DMV in Irvine, a position that interfaced with law enforcement (he arrested the drunks and I took away their driver licenses). I was also a POST certified instructor in Admin Per Se. We relocated from Orange County to Sacramento when my department promoted me to Manager. We had only been in Sacto 4 months when he died in a car crash. He had 22 years on the CHP at the time. Subsequently, I left my job and followed my daughter and son-in-law to eastern Tennessee where I am building a new life. Sadly, without my hero, my partner and best friend. Law enforcement officers all over the country have been kind and protective of me wherever I go. I'm very grateful to be part of the law enforcement family........................ ADDITIONAL NOTE: My husband is buried in Pacific View Cemetery in Newport Beach, California, and so is John Wayne, his hero.
