About Me
I have wanted to become a police officer since I was a little kid. I was inspired by the police officers of the Watertown Police Department in Wisconsin (my hometown). The men and women that I got to meet just represented all the ideals of law enforcement: pride, integrity, courage, professionalism, and compassion. These men and women are the ones that drove me to pursue the career I am today - that of Law Enforcement. I began my drive by ride along with a local DNR Warden for over 5 years. This man taught me a lot about law enforcement and what it means to be a law enforcement officer. During my 5 year stint with this warden I went around to local law enforcement agencies (police and sheriff) and asked him I could speak with officers, deputies, Sgts., Captains, and even Sheriffs and Chiefs. During this interviews I asked what it is like to be in law enforcement, what training I should pursue, what should I get for education, and even inquired about what being a police officer means in reference to a personal life. These interviews helped me a lot and I learned a lot about what I need to know about law enforcement from them. At age 16 I became part of my Watertown PD's Citizens Police Academy. Due to my work with them and support, I was allowed to enter even though, generally, only 18 year olds were allowed. This academy helped me to learn a lot and only made my "itch" for law enforcement stronger. My senior year in high school I had a, roughly, 1/2 internship with the Watertown Police Department. I was able to gain valuable knowledge and experience. I befriended many of the officers and got an even more in depth look into law enforcement because of my respect and drive. As of right now I am pursuing my college degree in Criminal Justice and am actively applying to many law enforcement agencies around the State of Wisconsin. Above is only the beginning of all that I have done so far. I have also clocked at least 50+ hours in LE ride alongs, I have been part of the Platteville Police Explorers and competed in a Police Explorer competition, and I have already obtained civilian based LE training in Firearms an DAAT (for private security). One day I hope to join America's Finest, and be able to protect and serve my community, state, and nation.
