About Me: Updated May 9, 2009. On March 21, 2009, an officer is shot in the face; lays dying in the gutter in Oakland and 3 of his brothers die with him that day. Then Pittsburgh; 3 blue knights murdered. I again click on a little red thumbs down button and cry and pray to God. Feeling helpless and useless here. When is enough enough? It's getting worse. It's war and the court systems sometimes seem to support the enemy. I am so sad and so sorry. Allmighty God in Heaven. Lord; please send strength to the families; friends and to all brothers and sisters of fallen officers to help them fight to overcome. Amen.************************ Took the LE Tech exam for the Sheriff's department last week. It was a bear. It's the dispatchers exam and you only need a 40% to pass for LE Tech so it tells you how tough it is. The dispatchers have to get a 70% to pass. I want to bring what I can to the fight. If I get in; I promise to do my best to support the line soldiers with all my skills and heart. I promise that to myself; to you all and to God.******************* I am not sure if I live in a good place where bad things happen a lot or a bad place where good things happen sometimes. I have little faith in men; my faith is reserved for God. I salute you; that are out there; that "do the right thing" and you that protect those that do the right the thing. My only peace comes now in the smile or laughter of my child; a pitching bird or when my mind is thinking about God. Even with my mind on Him; my peace turns to sadness because as a whole; we are getting further and further away from what is right and just. There is much evil in the world. ---------------------------------------- Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. (Please) Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. St. Michael the Archangel, ( please, ) defend us in our day of battle; protect us against the deceit and wickedness of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And you, O prince of the Heavenly Host, by The Power of God banish into hell satan and all of the evil spirits who roam through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. Lord, we are helpless without You in this ongoing war with evil. May the hearts of those that purvey darkness be purified with the light of The Power of the Heavens and may the suffering of those that walk in that light to protect and serve all that is good and just; be ended. Please help us to keep satan and his followers at bay; opening all of our senses to their deceit and trickery so the innocent and righteous are not harmed by the evil they try to spread in Your world. Please give me the strength to never give up and the wisdom to work towards what is right for me; my family, my community and my country. Please help me to see and to understand Your will and the things that are beyond me, by your design. I praise Your Many Names and I will never stop praying for peace on earth and good will towards men. These are rough times down here Lord as You know. Men struggle for bread and other neccessities of life. I pray for their strength, comfort, good fortune and fortitude and that our leaders will find wisdom. I pray that the hearts of the greedy will turn; less their greed and gluttonous ways be vanquised under You Thumb. Amen. ******************* Here is a general thanks PL pals for your support so; thanks. Sunday, 1-4-2009. Happy New Year all! At work at my security job with a questionable cup of coffee. There is no such thing as "bad coffee;" but there is such a thing as "no coffee." I love my job. I like the trust I have been given to watch other the "stuff" I watch over as a security guard. My shift also gives me time off during the week to do whatever I choose, like side work or chores or to clean the garage which has now become my 4th career. At 50 years old; this is the best time of my life. The experience; the wisdom; the burned hands from the stove I had to touch....it takes time to get here. Just time and we all get there at different times if at all. It's not a race. As my relationship with myself improves my realtionship with the whole world improves. My relationship with God improves. Free advice is worth what you pay for it but here is some for you and especially you young whipper-snappers. Keep trying. Never give up. If you "...get up one more time than you fall down... or are knocked down; you win." It is amazing how much you can get done or move forward with the smallest amount of effort and you really never know how close you are to "getting there;" just that one last push may be all it takes. I am not a super religious guy ("God made man and man made religion,") but I know where my blessings come from and I also know that I am a mere speck of dust down here under Gods thumb when He is finished with me. A speck of dust. I know when we try just a wee bit; God; The Universe; Jesus; Whomever you choose to call Him or Her; is right in there with us pushing really hard for us and you will get back 10 times what you put in. Our plans our not always God's plans and that is where Faith, acceptance and understanding become our responsibilty and choice to exercise. Keep the faith; fight the good fight. No matter the outcome; there is honor and no shame or failure in doing your best. "You can lose many battles and still win the war." Love yourselves and do something nice for yourself today and every day. Robert.
